THE RESORT
This special place has been designed from the very outset to be "a different kind of resort" only a minutes from Ubud center. Waka di Ume has been operated since 1995. To begin with, it has been designed to be small and intimate; only sixteen dwellings eleven in the lanai style, two villas and three suites. It is an escape from the modern world. Away from television, away from radio, and even away from telephone, if you wish.
THE ARCHITECT
I Ketut Siandana is a Balinese Architect as well as a director of the hotel and it is his creation. To people who know him, he is a visionary-the new generation of Balinese, the hope for future, if Bali is to retain its special magic, a traditionalist whose vision is to present the Bali experience in an unique way. He believes. Waka di Ume gives visitors a chance to experience this and the many guests who have stayed there agree with him. You are in rice fields, you are part of the culture, you have been transported to another place another time-the Bali you came for.
